CHAPLAINS
A Unity Chaplain is a member of our church community who has been trained in the Chaplaincy Program that Unity Minister, Lei Lanni Burt developed.
A Chaplain is someone who can create and hold a sacred space with you - a spiritual place of possibility, trusting that God is in charge.
A Chaplain lovingly listens and holds in confidence what is heard.
A Chaplain is someone who can pray with you and support you on your spiritual journey.
How do I use the Services of a Chaplain?
Each Sunday following the 1:00 p.m.service, a chaplain is available to pray with you and/or offer healing energy. The name of the chaplain on duty is announced near the end of the service. Each chaplain will be wearing a silver chaplain's badge for easy identification.
- Prayer Request: If you have a prayer request, go to the chaplain and ask her/him to pray with you. Whatever you ask for in prayer will be held in strictest confidence.
- Healing Request: If you have a healing need, simply ask the chaplain for healing energy. She/He will ask you to sit in a chair and relax as she/he sends you loving energy. Other than resting her/his hands on your shoulders, no other touching is involved.
Chaplains also conduct a weekly healing prayer service at the church on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome!
Monthly Wellness Calling:
With the permission of the church member or attendee, individuals will receive a monthly call from a chaplain. The same chaplain will call the same people each month. They will introduce themselves and ask if there is anyway they can support you in prayer - either for times of crisis OR times of joy! The "wellness call" lasts about 3 - 5 minutes. Whatever your prayer request, know that it is held in strictest confidence - even from other family members.
Hospital Visitation
Chaplains will make home or hospital visits when needed only upon request.
